Connect your store

Connect Shopify

Link your Shopify store by entering your store address and approving access.

Shopify needs one extra step Square does not: you tell us which store you mean before we can send you there.

Before you start

  • Sign in to RareSync.
  • Have an active plan. Connecting a store needs one.
  • Be an Owner or an Admin.
  • Know your store address. It looks like your-store.myshopify.com.

Not sure of the address? Sign in to Shopify admin and read it out of the browser address bar.

Type your store address

  1. Open Sync in RareSync.
  2. Find the Shopify card and choose Connect.
  3. A connection window appears asking for your Store Domain.
  4. Type your-store.myshopify.com. Pasting the full URL works too, and so does just the store handle.
  5. Choose Continue to Shopify.

If we cannot read what you typed, we say so before sending you anywhere. Check for a stray space or a missing .myshopify.com.

Give RareSync permission

Shopify asks you to install RareSync and approve what it can reach.

Make sure the store name at the top of that screen is the one you meant. If you run more than one Shopify store, this is where they get mixed up. Sign in to the right store first, then approve.

Check that it worked

Back on Sync, the Shopify card shows a Connected badge. Open its actions menu (the three dots), then choose View integration. The page's Last sync row reads Never until your first sync.

If it did not connect:

  • Run the whole flow again and finish every Shopify screen.
  • Confirm the store address, then confirm you approved on that same store.
  • If the button is greyed out, check your plan and your role.

What to do next

Set your Sync Direction, look over Match up your fields, then press Sync Now.
