Install RareSync on your phone

Add RareSync to your home screen so it opens like an app.

Why install it

RareSync runs in your browser, so there is nothing to download from an app store. Adding it to your home screen is still worth the twenty seconds.

Once you do, RareSync gets its own icon, opens full screen with no address bar in the way, and stays signed in. On a phone that matters, because the camera is how you add items and you want the screen to yourself.

Install from the prompt

Some phones offer to do it for you. If a banner appears asking to install RareSync, tap it and follow the steps.

You can also open Settings inside RareSync and look for Install app. That row appears on a phone that can install, and hides itself once you have.

iPhone and Safari

Safari is the only iPhone browser that can do this, so start there.

  1. Open app.raresync.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow coming out of it).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add.

Android and Chrome

  1. Open app.raresync.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the menu (three dots, top right).
  3. Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen.
  4. Confirm.

Firefox

  1. Open app.raresync.com in Firefox.
  2. Tap the menu.
  3. Tap Install, or Add to Home screen if you see it.
  4. Confirm.

Some browsers hide this option or do not offer it at all. If you cannot find it, RareSync still works fine in a normal browser tab. Nothing is missing.
