RareSync Help

My photo will not upload

Fix file types, big files, camera permission and uploads that stop partway.

The file type is wrong

RareSync accepts JPEG, PNG, and WEBP.

A HEIC is not supported, and neither is a raw camera file. On an iPhone the camera roll often stores HEIC, and the picker may still show those files. That does not mean they will upload. Some screens stop you from picking one. Others let you pick it, then say the format is not supported. Export or convert it to JPEG first. Most phone gallery apps can do that from the share menu.

The photo is too big

Photos straight off a camera can be very large.

Use your phone's own share or export option to make a smaller copy, then upload that. A photo about the size a phone camera produces is plenty. Bigger does not give you a better listing.

The upload stopped

Uploading is the one part that needs a steady connection.

  • Check you are online, and switch to a stronger signal if you can.
  • Keep RareSync open until the photo finishes saving. Locking the phone or switching apps can stop it partway.
  • If it failed, try that photo again on its own rather than the whole batch.

Shop wifi at the back of the building is the usual culprit. Standing nearer the router genuinely fixes this more often than anything else on the page.

We cannot reach your camera

If the camera does not open, or the screen stays black, your browser is not allowed to use it.

  1. Open your browser or phone settings.
  2. Find the permissions for RareSync.
  3. Allow camera access.
  4. Reload RareSync and accept the prompt when it appears.

On an iPhone, the camera only works in Safari, and only on a site you have allowed. Another app may also be holding the camera. Close it and try again.

It still will not go

Email support@raresync.com and tell us the phone or computer you are on, the browser, and what the screen said. A screenshot helps.
