What an option is

An option is a choice a shopper makes: Size, Colour, Material.

Each mix of choices becomes its own version of the item, with its own SKU, price and barcode. A shirt in Small, Medium and Large is one item with three versions.

Add an option

1. Open the item and start the options editor.
2. Choose Add Option.
3. Type the option name, such as Size.
4. Type the values under it. You can enter them one at a time, or paste them comma separated, like Small, Medium, Large.
5. Add a second option if the item needs one.
6. Choose Generate All Combinations.

That last step is the one people miss. Naming the options does not create the versions. Generating does.

Options multiply

Every value in one option pairs with every value in the others.

• 3 sizes on their own: 3 versions
• 3 sizes and 2 colours: 6 versions
• 3 sizes, 2 colours and 2 materials: 12 versions

Twelve versions is twelve SKUs to fill in. Keep your option lists short unless you genuinely stock every combination.

Three options at most

You can add up to three option names on one item. Add Option stops working once you have three.

Each option also needs at least two values before RareSync can generate anything. An option with one value is not a choice.

Edit one version

Once the versions exist, open any single one to change its SKU, price or barcode on its own. The rest are left alone.

This is how you charge more for the XL, or give one colour its own barcode.

Deleting the main item permanently removes every version under it, in one go. Archive it instead if you want them back later. See Delete an item.
